Job description

Silex is seeking a Senior Delivery Engineer to implement and maintain an enterprise RAG platform. This role will focus on the AI/ML components of the platform, including vector database implementation, model integration, and RAG pipeline development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement RAG architecture components and workflows
2. Set up and optimize vector database solutions
3. Develop model gateway and API integrations
4. Implement Azure OpenAI service integrations
5. Develop security controls for AI components (PII detection, prompt injection prevention)
6. Create and maintain Python-based services and APIs
7. Participate in technical design discussions
8. Support testing and performance optimization
9. Maintain technical documentation

Required Skills and Experience:

1. 5+ years of software development experience
2. Strong Python programming skills
3. Experience with LangChain/LangGraph frameworks
4. Knowledge of vector databases (Weaviate, Qdrant, or similar)
5. Experience with REST API development
6. Background in LLM integration and deployment
7. Understanding of RAG architectures and implementations
8. Experience with containerization and Kubernetes
9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with Azure OpenAI or other LLM platforms
2. Knowledge of enterprise security practices
3. Background in search or information retrieval
4. Experience with PII handling and data privacy
5. Familiarity with Kong API gateway (experience with AI proxy plugins would be beneficial)
6. Experience with AWS services
7. Open source contributions to AI/ML projects

Location:

Remote with occasional in-person meetings. May need to be onsite for the first few weeks of the engagement (Nashville, TN).
