Job summary

DRW is seeking an engineer for their UP-Trade Operations team in Chicago. This role focuses on building software to manage DeFi trading operations and requires strong knowledge of DeFi protocols and smart contracts. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with Ethereum and a solid understanding of financial implications in DeFi. Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals with hands‑on DeFi experience.
• Knowledge of smart contract ABIs and libraries like ethers.js or web3.js.
• Ability to reason about DeFi protocols from a financial perspective.

Responsibilities

• Build systems focusing on testing, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Design, model, and program in various languages.
• Maintain existing legacy code while developing new solutions.

Skills

Experience navigating the DeFi landscape

Hands-on experience with EVM internals

Proficiency in domain-driven design

Familiarity with DeFi protocols

Confident JVM knowledge
