Job summary

Mysten Labs is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to help protect the Sui ecosystem. You’ll uncover vulnerabilities, build monitoring tools, and assess economic risk across DeFi protocols, partnering with external protocol teams and Mysten’s DeFi products, including DeepBook.

You will write reports and runbooks, drive compliance with DeFi security recommendations, hunt for critical vulnerabilities in high‑TVL protocols, and act as the security contact for external DeFi teams and Mysten's own

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in security engineering, smart contract security, or DeFi risk engineering, with production tooling and vulnerability findings.
• Strong understanding of DeFi mechanics and failure modes: lending markets, AMMs, liquid staking, oracles, MEV.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python, comfort with Rust; SQL over large datasets; experience with blockchain indexers.

Responsibilities

• Build and run continuous monitoring of the Sui DeFi ecosystem for security and economic risk.
• Extend security tooling and analysis capabilities.
• Measure and drive compliance with DeFi security recommendations across protocols.
• Hunt for critical vulnerabilities in high‑TVL protocols and coordinate fixes.
• Be the security contact for external DeFi teams and Mysten's DeFi products.
• Write findings, reports, and runbooks traceable to bytecode or chain state.
