Job Overview:

This position primarily involves defending clients in general and premises liability cases, along with product liability matters in New York, New Jersey, and federal courts. The firm represents a diverse range of clients, including senior living facilities, healthcare providers, building owners, and manufacturers of FDA-regulated products.

Duties:

• Take and defend depositions.
• Conduct legal, medical, and scientific research, collaborating with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
• Draft detailed memoranda, motions (including motions for summary judgment), discovery documents, and pleadings.
• Write reports for clients, such as deposition summaries, medical record analyses, and case valuations.
• Work closely with expert witnesses and coordinate their involvement in cases.
• Participate in trial, mediation, and ADR preparation and planning.
• Represent clients in courtroom appearances, including oral argument of motions and discovery conferences.
• Maintain a minimum of 1900 billable hours annually.

Requirements:

• 6-10+ years of first-chair deposition and courtroom experience in general/premises liability and/or product liability.
• Must be admitted to the New York Bar; New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.
• Must have a Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member in good standing with the bar.
• Extensive familiarity with New York Courts.
