Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Principal Deep Space RF Communications Architect to lead end-to-end RF architectures for Mars and cislunar missions. You will shape TT&C, proximity links, relay crosslinks, and Earth-to-deep-space data links, driving system-level analyses and architecture confidence across mission lifecycles.

You will document CONOPS, ICDs, and ADDs, collaborate across engineering domains, and engage with government and commercial stakeholders to align deep space communications with strategic

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 12+ years in RF/space systems.
• Experience designing TT&C, proximity links, crosslinks, and data links.
• Strong RF link budget, waveform design, and antenna optimization.
• Ability to document concepts, interfaces, and architecture details.
• Experience with NASA LunaNet, CCSDS standards, and ITAR awareness.

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end RF architectures for Mars and cislunar links.
• Lead architecture trades, analyze bands, waveforms, and coding.
• Develop deep-space link budgets and performance analyses.
• Create CONOPS, ICDs, and ADDs aligned with standards.
• Collaborate with mission engineering and ground systems teams.
• Ensure integration across spacecraft, thermal, power, and software.
