Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Decision Scientist to work with our US-based CPG clients, helping them solve complex business challenges through advanced analytics, data-driven decision-making, and strategic problem-solving. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with client-facing consulting experience to deliver actionable insights, build trusted client relationships, and contribute to business growth.

This role requires an individual who can translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks, develop innovative solutions, lead analytics engagements, and mentor junior team members. The candidate should possess strong communication skills, stakeholder management expertise, and a passion for creating measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Problem Solving & Analytics Consulting

• Partner with clients to understand business challenges and translate them into structured analytical problems.
• Apply first-principles thinking and consulting frameworks to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
• Design and deliver data-driven analyses using statistical techniques, predictive modeling, optimization, and advanced analytics methodologies.
• Formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and generate empirical insights to validate recommendations.
• Develop analytical models and business cases that support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and potential obstacles while proactively recommending alternative approaches and creative solutions.
• Synthesize findings into executive-ready insights and actionable recommendations.

Client Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders across business and functional teams.
• Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to client leadership.
• Anticipate client needs, emerging business issues, and opportunities for value creation.
• Deliver exceptional client service and drive high levels of client satisfaction.
• Facilitate workshops, presentations, and stakeholder discussions to communicate recommendations and align on outcomes.
• Collaborate with Engagement Managers and leadership teams to identify opportunities for account expansion.
• Support business development initiatives, RFP responses, proposals, capability presentations, and client pitches.
• Contribute to solution development, effort estimation, and commercial discussions.
• Assist in building analytics consulting offerings and industry-specific solutions.
• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing client accounts.

Project Delivery & Leadership

• Lead workstreams within consulting engagements and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
• Manage project plans, stakeholder expectations, risks, and dependencies.
• Drive collaboration across multidisciplinary teams including analytics, technology, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to project governance, quality standards, and delivery excellence.

Firm Building & Capability Development

• Contribute to organizational growth through knowledge-sharing initiatives and capability-building programs.
• Develop reusable assets, frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
• Participate in and conduct training sessions to strengthen consulting and analytics capabilities across teams.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and talent development initiatives.

Coaching & Team Development

• Coach and mentor junior consultants and analysts on:
• Statistical and machine learning techniques
• Problem-solving methodologies
• Structured thinking and hypothesis-driven approaches

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Operations Research, or related quantitative disciplines.
• 7+ years of experience in Analytics Consulting, Management Consulting, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience solving complex business problems using data and analytical methods.

Pay:

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $120,000 - $155,000 with the potential for a higher base depending on experience, skills, and overall fit for the position. In addition, for the current performance period, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms. The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a "free time" PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take the time needed for either sick time or vacation.
