Job summary

USAA is building a new Member Value Decision Science team. As a Decision Science Analyst Lead, you will shape analytics that drive member value, applying statistical modeling and data integration to inform strategic decisions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations, and present insights to senior leaders. This role offers remote eligibility within the continental US with periodic travel and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or a business or quantitative field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
• 8 years of experience in a decision support analytic function OR Advanced degree in relevant discipline, 6 years of experience in a decision support analytic function.
• Expert knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in SQL, SAS, BI too

Responsibilities

• Leads discussions with cross-functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.
• Applies advanced analytical techniques to solve large-scale business problems with significant impact on strategy.
• Oversees development of requirements/resources to meet objectives.
• Translates analysis into actionable recommendations for senior management.
• Delivers findings clearly to management and stakeholders.
• Incorporates visualization to assist non-technical audiences.
• Gathers relevant data sources and performs EDA to support strategy.
• Integrates/discovers data sources and performs data hygiene as needed.
• Documents assumptions, methodologies, validation, and testing for peer reviews and compliance.
• Researches latest data and analytics practices (Cloud, Data Mining, Python, Neural Networks) to advance knowledge.
