Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Lead Decarbonization Engineer to guide behind-the-meter electrical infrastructure projects across the U.S. The role focuses on electrification and decarbonization, coordinating with utilities, performing site assessments, and delivering IFC-level designs from 35 kV to MV/LV.

Mentorship and adherence to NEC/IEEE/ANSI standards are essential. The position supports MHD/HDV charging, ports, aviation, and industrial facilities, with senior technical leadership and client engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in behind-the-meter electrical power system design and assessments.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required (CA, WA, NY, or TX preferred).
• Experience preparing IFC-level electrical design documents.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, ANSI, and utility standards.
• Experience with MV/LV power distribution and switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, assessment, design, and delivery of behind-the-meter electrical infrastructure projects.
• Prepare IFC design documents for 35 kV through MV/LV distribution and devices.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure design quality and safety.
• Coordinate with utilities on interconnections and protection/metering.
• Perform and review electrical calculations and system studies.
