Job summary

MFS is seeking a skilled data engineer in Boston to contribute to a long-term strategic initiative unifying investment data across multi-asset platforms. You will design and implement scalable data models and pipelines, collaborating with the Enterprise Data Management Office to enable accurate risk management and client reporting.

The role requires 5-6+ years in data engineering, strong SQL, dbt, Snowflake experience, and cloud platform knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5-6+ years of experience in design and building data-oriented applications.
• Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience from SQL to Advanced SQL.
• Experience in developing and maintaining data models in dbt.
• Experience with data integration, data warehouse, and analytics architecture.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and cloud-native databases preferred.
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data models in dbt within Snowflake, implementing business logic and ensuring alignment with data standards.
• Manage and contribute to dbt projects, ensuring code quality, proper documentation, and modular design patterns.
• Design, build, and administer scalable data pipelines and a robust data warehouse for reporting and analytics.
• Lead development activities and implement solutions aligned with program objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement of data quality, resiliency, and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot complex system interactions to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with platform and data architects to upgrade and integrate ingestion and delivery tools.
• Upgrade transformation, validation, and orchestration tools within the platform.
• Provide support during outages.
