Job summary

MFS Investment Management in Boston is seeking a DBT Investment Lead Data Engineer to unify and harmonize investment data for enhanced decision making, risk management and client reporting across a multi‑asset platform.

You will design data models in dbt with Snowflake, build scalable pipelines, drive data quality, and lead cross‑team collaboration in a hybrid work environment that supports remote and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 5–6+ years of design, development and data‑oriented applications.
• 2–4 years hands‑on SQL experience beyond basics.
• Experience with dbt, data models, ETL/ELT, and data warehouse architecture.
• Knowledge of Snowflake and cloud native databases preferred.
• Experience with Azure, GCP or AWS and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with data management architectures and real‑time data flows.
• Industry experience in financial services is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dbt data models in Snowflake.
• Manage dbt projects with code quality and documentation.
• Design, build and administer scalable data pipelines and data warehouse.
• Lead development activities and align with business strategy.
• Drive data quality, resiliency, control and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot complex system interactions and root causes.
• Collaborate with platform, data architect and integration architect teams.
• Upgrade transformation tools and orchestration for unified platform.
• Provide support during outages.
