Job summary

Eliassen Group seeks a Senior DBA to support database operations and design improvements for a Federal program. The role focuses on PostgreSQL and MySQL on Amazon RDS, automation, upgrades, recovery, and performance optimization in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and administering AWS Glue databases and Athena tables.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, Lake Formation, QuickSight, DynamoDB, Redshift, MSK/Kafka, Kinesis, ElastiCache, and OpenSearch.
• Experience with containerization such as Docker or Kubernetes, including PostgreSQL and MySQL workloads on Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS, or via RDS Proxy.
• Experience supporting Java and PySpark applications.
• Experience developing and executing Ansible scripts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to propose database solutions for online and batch Java-based and AWS Glue/Apache Spark-based systems, including troubleshooting deadlocks, long-running transactions, and connection pool or isolation level issues.
