Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to administer and optimize enterprise SQL Server and Azure-based databases across NIH EI portfolio. You will design, tune, back up, and secure databases while collaborating with developers, cloud engineers, and DevSecOps teams.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with Azure SQL, multiple RDBMSs, and strong data integrity expertise, with on‑premises and cloud-hosted systems experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 6–10 years of DBA experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server, Sybase, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
• Experience with database mirroring/failover and SQL performance tuning.
• Ability to create and maintain detailed configuration and administration documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage database administration activities within NIH/EI portfolio.
• Administer and maintain Azure SQL, SQL Server, Sybase, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
• Plan, install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot database systems.
• Maintain database backups, restore/recovery, and security.
• Develop SQL Agent jobs and Windows tasks; rotate service accounts.
