Job summary

Greymatter Solutions is seeking a Senior DB2 z/OS DBA for remote engagement. The role involves managing Db2 for z/OS subsystems, applying SMP/E fixes, and ensuring high availability across production and non-production environments.

Responsibilities include performance tuning, coordinating backups, DR testing, and collaborating with CICS/storage teams. Strong expertise in Db2 utilities, replication, and change data capture is required.

Qualifications

Extensive experience with Db2 for z/OS and mainframe subsystems.
Strong knowledge of z/OS, MVS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2/JES3.
Experience with SMP/E maintenance and DB2 utilities.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Db2 for z/OS subsystems.
Apply maintenance and fixes using SMP/E.
Administer production and non-production Db2 databases.
Execute and optimize utilities like REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD.
Monitor and tune subsystems, SQL, buffer pools, locking, logging, storage, performance.
Support backup, recovery, HA, and DR testing.
Troubleshoot incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
Support Q Replication, SQL Replication, and Change Data Capture.
Collaborate with application, CICS, storage, security teams; follow ITIL processes.
Maintain documentation and participate in on-call rotations.
