PENN Interactive is seeking a Senior Database Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will design and administer databases, tackle production issues, and ensure availability across AWS and GCP cloud environments using Terraform and GitOps.

You will work with PostgreSQL, Kafka, ETLs, and CDC, and collaborate across agile teams to maintain performance and reliability of our cloud-native platforms on Kubernetes.

Qualificações

• 5+ years hands-on Database Engineering (Postgres required).
• 5+ years working in an AWS or GCP cloud environment.
• 3+ years of high-level programming in Python or Go.
• Strong database architecture experience.
• Experience with applications requiring compliance audits.
• Experience with production support issues and remediation.
• Experience building infrastructure as code via IaC (Terraform).
• Ability to work with K8S operators (Zalando and CNPG).
• Experience with Postgres, Kafka, ETLs and CDC.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate current database architectures and suggest improvements for performance and availability.
• Support engineering by responding to database outages and triaging issues.
• Evaluate schemas, partitions, views and queries to improve performance.
• Manage replication and ensure resilience with existing observability tooling.
• Make design decisions for AWS and GCP database direction.
• Automate deployment/creation using Terraform and GitOps.
• Build a reusable database design architecture for new installations.
