Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support multiple product teams and lead a phased migration of on-premises SQL Server environments to AWS. You will stabilize current infrastructure, design scalable cloud-native solutions, and ensure high availability and performance across large databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years in a related role.
• Experience with SQL Server 10+ TB environments and replication.
• AWS database migration experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise-scale SQL Server environments across dev/QA/prod.
• Lead upgrades, migrations, and patching with minimal business disruption.
• Design and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery (Always On).
• Monitor and optimize performance, backups, and recoveries.
• Develop automation with PowerShell, T-SQL, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC.
• Support monitoring, alerting, and observability for SQL Server health.
