Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior SQL Server Cloud Database Administrator and Migration Expert to lead migrations from on‑premises to AWS and Azure. You will drive Always On and cluster implementations, build scalable cloud databases, and ensure security and performance across hybrid environments.

The role requires hands‑on migration experience, architecture planning, and mentoring DBAs on AWS and Azure cloud platforms. It is a full‑time on‑site position at DOT Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; U.S. Citizenship or Green Card eligibility.
• SQL Server administration across on‑premises, AWS and Azure Cloud; migration of Always On and cluster to cloud.
• Architect, secure, and optimize enterprise databases with performance, DR, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise SQL Server platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Configure and optimize AWS and Azure SQL and Managed Instances.
• Plan and execute migrations from on‑premises to AWS/Azure (IaaS and PaaS).
• Mentor DBAs on AWS/Azure best practices and automation.
• Lead disaster recovery design and implementation for cloud deployments.
• Monitor performance, security, and integrity; perform routine maintenance and upgrades.
