Job summary

The Center for Disability Services seeks compassionate Senior Day Program Counselors in Albany, NY, to provide vital support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

We are searching for Senior Day Program Counselors to join our agency. Senior Day Program Counselors will provide full support to individuals including dining, lifting, direct personal care, development and implementation of activities, supervision/oversight of individuals to ensure that they are carrying out their goals.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurately documenting and providing services to the individuals they support
• Promote independence and community inclusion
• Responsible for the implementation of the day program plans, opportunities for self-determination, independent activity, increased productivity and greater community inclusion
• May function as a Team Leader for each individual assigned
• May be responsible for the direction of all staff assigned to that program area

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• A minimum of one (1) year of job related experience is required, specifically working with people with developmental disabilities or related field
• A minimum of an Associate’s degree or two completed years of college may be considered in lieu of the 1 year experience
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds to apply for this position
