Job summary

The Salvation Army in Pennsylvania seeks a Head Day Camp Counselor to provide a safe, engaging environment for children enrolled in the Summer Day Camp program. This role partners with the Child Care Coordinator to plan activities and supervise campers.

Responsibilities include leading activities, enforcing safety rules, managing child releases, and maintaining cleanliness. Applicants must be 21+, have a PA driver's license, and complete KeepSAfe training.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age and experience working with children.
• Valid PA Driver's License.
• Must complete The Salvation Army KeepSAfe training and follow guidelines.
• Must provide clearances as required by PA Act 153 and related laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, fun, and caring environment for children in the Summer Day Camp.
• Lead groups of children in activities and implement program procedures.
• Adhere to and manage child release to guardians per policy.
• Enforce rules and maintain a safe, engaging camp atmosphere.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, campers, and parents.
