Job summary

Gong is seeking an IT DataOps BI Engineer in New York City to build scalable data pipelines, administer Tableau environments, and drive AI-driven BI features. You will own core data workflows, integrate data across cloud and on-prem sources, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver analytics at scale.

The role focuses on data activation, governance, and security while collaborating on modern BI tools like Snowflake, dbt, Retool, and Tableau.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in BI Engineering, analytics engineering, or IT infrastructure supporting data platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake, GitHub, and dbt for scalable data modeling and transformation.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (Fivetran, Census, and Workato) and workflow orchestration.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Experience with ad hoc analytics to support customer reporting requests
• Familiarity with IAM and Access Control.
• AI/LLM Integration Experience: Familiarity with integrating REST APIs for LLMs into data pipelines or front-end tools (Retool).

Responsibilities

• Reverse ETL (RETL) & Data Activation: Design, develop, and own scalable RETL pipelines using Census, Workato, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Operational Integration: Map transformed data models into destination SaaS applications (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk), managing API rate limits, webhook handling, data sync observability, and error resolution.
• Integrate data across multiple sources (cloud and on-prem) using various approaches (IPaaS or API-based extraction).
• Tableau Administration & Architecture: Manage, optimize, and scale Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud environments with provisioning and security controls.
• Retool Application Development: Build and maintain custom internal applications in Retool integrated with Snowflake and APIs.
• Platform Governance: Establish best practices for dashboard deployment, Retool lifecycle, and BI environment stability.
• AI Tooling Integration: Integrate Generative AI APIs into internal apps to automate workflows and generate insights.
• Modern BI & AI Features: Pilot and implement emerging AI features within the BI stack.
