Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to shape manufacturing, test and failure analysis for next‑gen datacenter servers. You will collaborate with HW/FW/SW teams, drive DFX feedback, and optimize production through data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities include leading prototype builds, improving processes, and producing clear dashboards and SOPs. The ideal candidate has deep CPU/GPU/HBM/PCIe expertise, Python scripting, and Linux proficiency.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering and 12+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid understanding of complex compute/AI server system architecture.
  • Proven skills and experience in design and manufacture of complex hardware platforms.
  • Excellent hardware debugging and problem solving skills; ability to review logfiles and triage.
  • Familiar with power and thermal system design for datacenter rack server systems.
  • Strong collaboration skills in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Familiar with diagnostics/test software used in a factory setting.
  • Experience with CPU, GPU, HBM, PCIe; comfortable writing Python code and test scripts.
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and scripting.
  • Self-driven, proactive, ownership mindset to drive tasks to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Owns, develops and delivers the Manufacturing, Test, and Failure Analysis/recovery process for new datacenter servers and assemblies.
  • Engage early with HW/FW/SW engineering groups, manufacturing partners, and other operations units.
  • Develop and implement product development plans to ensure high quality products; participate in mfg. planning and cost optimization.
  • Participate in DFX reviews; provide feedback to improve product quality.
  • Work with factory personnel and engineering teams during prototype builds; drive improvements from data.
  • Review build dashboards to analyze throughput, yields and failure categories; publish status reports.
  • Create documentation and SOPs for assembly, test, and failure analysis for internal teams, CM or external customers.
  • Debug server platforms per guidelines; work with Failure Analysis, Test Engineers and Operators to meet standards.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Our team owns, develops and delivers the Manufacturing, Test, and Failure Analysis/recovery process for new datacenter servers and assemblies incorporating the latest NVIDIAs GPU, CPU, and high speed interconnect technologies.
  • Early engagement with HW/FW/SW engineering groups, manufacturing partners, and other operations units such as program management and product quality engineering.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive product development plans that will result in high quality product. Participate in mfg. process planning, scheduling and cost optimization.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturing / Test (DFX) process and reviews. Provide DFX feedback that results in excellent product quality.
  • Work closely with factory personnel and engineering teams during prototype/validation builds, driving solutions to day-to-day problems, collecting metrics and reporting status. Work cross functional teams to define and implement process improvements, based on data collection and analysis.
  • Reviewing build dashboards to analyze latest throughput, yields and failure categories. Publishing clear daily status and build reports.
  • Develop documentation and SOPs for product assembly, test, debug/failure analysis for internal teams, contract manufacturers or external customers.
  • Debugging server platforms as per published guidelines. Working with CM Failure Analysis, Test Engineers and Operators to ensure factory assembly and test plans meet Nvidia's standards. Performing minor rework, retesting and recovering units.
What We Need To See
  • BS/MS or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering and 12+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid understanding of complex compute/AI server system architecture. Also knowledgeable about rack scale systems (servers, backend network switches, TOR switches, power shelves, cabling etc.)
  • Proven skills and experience in design and manufacture of complex hardware platforms.
  • Excellent complex hardware platforms debugging and rational problem solving skills. Ability to review logfiles and make initial triage decisions based on documentation provided by the Engineering Team.
  • Familiar with power and thermal system design for datacenter rack server systems.
  • Excellent multi-functional collaboration skills, working in a global, matrixed team and motivated to continually improve/optimize processes.
  • Familiar with diagnostics/test software as used in a factory setting.
  • CPU, GPU, HBM, PCIe expertise and comfortable writing Python code and test scripts.
  • Familiarity with linux command line, running commands, reviewing output
  • A high-energy, proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability to drive critical tasks and projects through to completion.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 200,000 USD - 322,000 USD.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
