Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for Databricks to own and evolve the enterprise data platform. You will lead the platform’s health, reliability, and lifecycle, setting guardrails for identity, access, networking, and sensitive-data controls while enabling self-service automation and a governance-forward approach to AI workloads.

• 7 years in IT, data engineering, or platform engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise Databricks platform including workspace, compute, jobs, and SQL warehouses.
• Define and enforce identity, access, networking, and Unity Catalog guardrails.
• Automate using Terraform, Databricks CLI, REST APIs, Python, or PowerShell with golden data paths.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering to enable governed Databricks AI capabilities.
• Drive upgrades, migrations, and security remediations based on risk and feedback.
• Monitor, respond to incidents, and optimize compute and cost with policies and tagging.
