Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking an experienced Databricks platform engineer to design, build, and enhance the enterprise Databricks platform supporting analytics, data products, ML, and AI initiatives across the organization.

You will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, Product Management, Cloud Engineering, and Data Science teams to develop reusable services, automation, and enable self-service capabilities that improve platform adoption and engineering productivity while

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
• 2+ years hands-on Databricks experience.
• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and Apache Spark.
• Experience in healthcare or regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance enterprise Databricks platform capabilities for analytics, ML, and AI workloads.
• Implement platform architectures, engineering standards, and reusable design patterns.
• Build and maintain IaC solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and platform automation.
• Create templates, accelerators, and deployment patterns for self-service adoption.
• Optimize platform scalability, performance, reliability, and cost across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with EA, Cloud Eng, Data Eng, PM, and Data Science to operationalize capabilities.
• Support platform services including MLflow, Model Registry, Feature Store, and Vector Search.
• Evaluate new Databricks features and cloud tech via assessments and POCs.
• Recommend enhancements and best practices to improve developer experience.
• Contribute to enterprise platform standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps.
