Job summary

bfiverecruiting is seeking a highly experienced Data Architect with Databricks and cloud-native data platforms to drive enterprise data strategy. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and technology leadership to translate requirements into robust architecture and roadmaps.

The role requires strong leadership, deep lakehouse expertise, and proven ability to design scalable, secure data solutions for reporting, analytics, AI, and ML initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platforms.
• Hands-on Databricks and cloud-based data architectures.
• Deep understanding of lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, Spark, and distributed processing.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, ETL/ELT patterns, and data integration.
• Experience building data platforms on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Expertise in enterprise data modeling, warehousing, and data lifecycle management.
• Ability to define architecture standards, evaluate options, and lead design discussions.
• Strong communication to translate business requirements into technical architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise data architecture and technical strategies using Databricks and cloud data platforms.
• Design scalable lakehouse solutions and data storage patterns.
• Establish architectural standards for ingestion, transformation, modeling, and consumption.
• Design batch and streaming data processing using Spark, PySpark, and SQL.
• Define data modeling standards across conceptual, logical, and physical models.
• Establish governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, and access controls.
• Implement governance and security strategies using Unity Catalog and cloud services.
• Evaluate cloud services and integration patterns; develop reference architectures.
• Provide architectural blueprints, technical docs, and implementation roadmaps.
• Guide engineers on architectural decisions and best practices.
• Optimize platform performance, scalability, and cloud and Databricks costs.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, security, and data platform teams.
