Job summary

MetaPhase is seeking a Principal Databricks Architect/Engineer to lead architecture, design, and governance of a Databricks-based data platform. You will translate business needs into scalable, secure data solutions and set engineering standards across the team.

You will guide complex implementations, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with security and governance policies while partnering with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-impact analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• 8+ years designing, building, and operating cloud data platforms.
• 5+ years hands-on Python/SQL/Apache Spark in ETL/ELT pipelines.
• 3+ years Databricks architecture and engineering experience.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional required.
• Ability to lead architecture decisions and communicate with stakeholders.
• U.S. Public Trust suitability and U.S. citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead target architecture and technical roadmap for Databricks platform.
• Design scalable Lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
• Define and maintain platform standards for data modeling, CI/CD, and observability.
• Lead enterprise data governance, including access controls and lineage.
• Architect secure integrations with source systems and cloud services.
• Provide hands-on engineering support for data pipelines and performance tuning.
• Mentor engineers and elevate team capability with reusable patterns.
