Job summary

MetaPhase is seeking a Data Engineer – Databricks to join our remote team. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and optimize data pipelines and data products within a Databricks environment, contributing to governance, operations, and sustaining data delivery.

You will work under leadership to convert requirements into reliable, well-documented code and collaborate with architects, data owners, and engineers to implement iterative improvements while maintaining technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 3+ years in data/analytics engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for ETL/ELT development.
• Hands-on Databricks and Spark experience in cloud environments.
• Experience with structured/unstructured data and data validation.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate preferred; willingness to obtain.
• Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Public Trust suitability; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines using Databricks, Python, SQL, Spark, and Delta Lake.
• Build ingestion, transformation, validation, and publishing processes for governed data products and analytics-ready datasets.
• Implement data models, data-quality rules, and metadata per governance standards.
• Configure and maintain Databricks notebooks, workflows, jobs, and deployment artifacts.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, release prep, and CI/CD activities.
• Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot production incidents.
