BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a Senior Database Report Writer to create and optimize reports for end users, retrieve data, and analyze current methodologies. The role supports multiple departments and projects, ensuring timely, accurate data delivery.

The position requires an associate's degree or equivalent experience, with 3+ years in database/mainframe/spreadsheet tools and experience with DB2/SQL/Easytrieve. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Creates reports in accordance with user information and specifications.
• Maintains/revises programming logic for existing routine reports as necessary to report timely and accurate data.
• Analyzes current reporting methodologies.
• Creates and maintains computer and web-based systems for data retrieval.
• Generates routine internal and external reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Interviews customers to obtain criteria for requested data.
• Adds and updates programming logic in accordance to customer specifications and requirements.
• Assists with system testing and provides technical support.
• Assists with departmental training issues.
• Participates on project teams to develop, maintain, and implement new processes, applications, policies, and forms.
