Job summary

DEEP&T in Bristol, CT is seeking a Sr. Database Engineer, Site Reliability, to analyze, design, and implement highly available database infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

You will work with SQL Server, Azure SQL, and AWS RDS, drive performance tuning, backups, DR planning, and automation. This on-site role requires four days in the office and offers a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years with Microsoft SQL Server and related Azure/AWS services.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server internals and backups.
• Experience with Agile development and source control (Git/GitLab/GitHub).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with Windows OS, networking, and containers.
• Ability to design fault-tolerant, highly available DB infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and ensure DB infrastructure is available 24/7.
• Design, modernize, and deliver database infrastructure.
• Help set architectural direction for DB platforms.
• Handle capacity planning, release cycles, and right-sizing.
• Provide performance tuning and admin duties.
• Develop automation to increase operational efficiency.
• Document systems and participate in on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and mentor juniors.
