Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and YugabyteDB solutions in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support Agile sprint planning, perform root-cause analyses, and influence platform direction through data modeling and performance tuning. This role requires strong communication and hands-on leadership to deliver scalable, reliable data platforms.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of database engineering experience.
• 4+ years of logical and physical data modeling experience.
• 4+ years supporting highly available, distributed database systems.
• 4+ years supporting large-scale distributed projects and migrations using Agile / SDLC methodologies.
• 4+ years hands-on with MongoDB, PostgreSQL or YugabyteDB.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical expertise for planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of database platforms.
• Partner with DBA teams, architecture, product teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Support sprint and release planning using Agile methodologies.
• Support complex database initiatives across architecture, integration, and data modeling.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues, drive root-cause analysis and preventive improvements.
• Recommend improvements to application and database processing, performance, and design.
