Job summary

CACI is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join the BEAGLE Agile Solution Factory supporting CBP in Northern Virginia. You will design, secure, and maintain MongoDB and PostgreSQL environments on an Agile team.

Hybrid schedule in Ashburn, VA; requires 5–7+ years of DBA/engineering experience with 3+ years MongoDB in production. You’ll drive performance, data security, and automation while collaborating with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Citizenship & Clearance: U.S. citizen; CBP background checks required (felony 3 years, drug 1 year, misconduct 1 year).
• Education: B.S. in CS/SE/IT or related field (equivalent experience acceptable).
• Experience: 5–7+ years in database admin/engineering; 3+ years on MongoDB.
• Location: Ashburn, VA hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Design and document data models for NoSQL and relational systems.
• Administer and maintain MongoDB environments including HA configurations.
• Administer and model relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and interface with systems.
• Tune performance, analyze execution plans, optimize queries and indexes.
• Implement security controls: RBAC, encryption, auditing, and TLS/SSL.
• Develop backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Automate deployments and maintenance with Python, Bash, and IaC.
• Collaborate with Agile teams and government stakeholders for rapid releases.
