Job summary

CACI International in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to lead design, security, and performance of both MongoDB and relational databases on an Agile team supporting CBP in Northern Virginia.

You will architect data models, optimize queries, and implement robust security and backup strategies while collaborating with developers, cloud engineers, and stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
5–7+ years of database administration/engineering experience.
Minimum 3+ years designing/administering MongoDB environments.
Local candidates must be able to work hybrid in Ashburn, VA.

Responsibilities

Design and document logical/physical data models for NoSQL and relational systems.
Administer, configure, upgrade, and maintain MongoDB environments; ensure high availability.
Model, administer, and maintain PostgreSQL/Oracle/MS SQL Server databases.
Perform query optimization and index tuning for SQL and MongoDB pipelines.
Implement and enforce database security controls, RBAC, and encryption.
Develop robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
Automate deployments and maintenance using Python/Bash and IaC tools.
Collaborate with agile teams to deliver frequent, reliable releases.
