Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Database Developer Sr Principal to advance our SOCOM mission through high‑impact database and BI platforms. You will design, maintain, and optimize database and BI applications in enterprise IT, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, 8+ years of related experience, and deep SQL/T‑SQL expertise, with responsibilities spanning backups, performance, security, and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience.
• Strong SQL and T‑SQL (Transact-SQL) expertise.
• Experience with Hyper‑V virtual environments and SQL clustered environments.
• Experience with SQL Server replication topologies.
• Ability to implement and troubleshoot triggers, views, stored procedures, and data integrity constraints.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, implement, monitor, and test database backups and recovery methodologies.
• Monitor and optimize production SQL Server database performance.
• Ensure database security, integrity, reliability, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Identify and troubleshoot database issues; analyze, design, build, test, and implement solutions.
• Manage file system space, database allocation, disk usage, and plan for capacity and scalability.
• Participate in monthly patching outside core business hours.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple IT teams.
• Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization skills and commitment to deadlines.
• Exceptional problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
