Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a Database Developer specializing in PostgreSQL and Oracle to design, implement, and optimize database objects, PL/pgSQL, and SQL queries. The role involves migration of Oracle code to PostgreSQL, performance tuning, data integration, and API development to support enterprise applications.

You will collaborate with application teams, QA, DevOps, and business analysts to deliver robust, scalable database solutions in a hybrid setup in Menands, NY.

Qualifications

• Experience with PostgreSQL development and Oracle PL/SQL
• Strong SQL and query optimization skills
• Experience designing database objects and schemas

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views for Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Migrate Oracle PL/SQL code to PostgreSQL and optimize performance
• Tune queries, optimize execution plans, indexing, and partitioning across Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Develop and support RESTful APIs for database services and data integration
• Build and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, architects, and analysts
• Create deployment scripts and SOPs for changes and releases
