Job summary

Disney Experiences in Orlando seeks a Lead Database Administrator to ensure the performance, integrity, and security of multiple databases. You will design architecture and lead efforts to scale, secure, and optimize data systems for enterprise apps.

Collaborate with SRE, app engineering, security, and infra teams; drive best practices, DR planning, and automation including AI-powered tooling to speed delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of related work experience.
• Expertise in at least two database technologies (e.g. MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle).
• 5 years managing production databases or distributed data systems across app, OS, storage, and network layers.
• 3 years Linux systems engineering with automation (Terraform/Ansible/Chef/Puppet).
• 2 years scripting in Python, Bash, Go or similar for automation.
• Advanced knowledge of Disaster Recovery planning and implementation.
• Advanced knowledge of modern DB infrastructure, including DBaaS, Docker, Kubernetes, VMs.
• Familiar with SDLC and database design methodologies; comfortable in agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, and support the database environment.
• Provide technical leadership across database operations.
• Oversee data storage, access, maintenance, and security administration.
• Lead and coordinate team projects aligned with organizational goals.
• Collaborate on database architecture and documentation standards.
• Develop best practices for database access and utilization.
• Coordinate with SRE, app engineering, security, and infra teams to improve availability and performance.
• Advocate for standards and scalable, automated processes.
