Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries is the world’s largest furniture manufacturer. We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and optimize our enterprise SQL Server environments and related RDBMS platforms.

Responsibilities include ensuring availability, security, and performance, plus leading automation and process improvements. On-call rotation and collaboration with IT teams are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years hands-on SQL Server administration in an enterprise environment.
• Strong backup and recovery knowledge.
• Experience with database monitoring and performance troubleshooting.
• Proficient in T-SQL for querying, scripting, and automation.
• Familiarity with PowerShell or similar scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance.
• Experience in ITIL-based incident and change management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server across development, test, and production.
• Support Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL as assigned.
• Ensure database availability, security, and integrity across environments.
• Manage database access controls, user permissions, and security compliance.
• Perform backups, index maintenance, and statistics updates.
• Execute deployments and changes following change management procedures.
• Respond to and resolve database incidents within SLA timeframes.
• Triage and prioritize requests by business impact.
• Perform root cause analysis and preventive measures.
• Document resolutions and maintain a knowledge base.
• Collaborate with application, developers, and infrastructure teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
