Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

Contact Government Services (CGS) is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to assist with administering all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server.

Pay Range

Base pay range: $114,816.00/yr - $165,845.33/yr

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server including Replication, Backup/Restore procedures, Capacity Planning, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services.
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2016.
• Provide systems administration support, including planning, testing, installation, and configuration of hardware and software.
• Recommend and implement solutions for SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
• Implement, deploy, and support Microsoft Technologies such as Visual Studio Framework, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and Web Services.
• Support virtualization technologies like VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V, creating and configuring virtual machines.
• Perform backups of web, application, and database servers according to policies, including daily incremental and weekly full backups.
• Monitor, manage space, and support database activities, including extended hours when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant SQL Server Database Administration experience.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently.
• Experience with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
• Knowledge of source/control, bug tracking, SDLC, and relational database integration.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive materials appropriately.
• Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Experience

• Implementing and maintaining data warehouses.
• Experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL.
• Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS.
• Professional services or federal consulting experience.
