We’re working with a client seeking an experienced Senior DBA to help oversee and optimize one of the most complex and high-volume database landscapes in the industry. This position is ideal for someone who brings strong expertise in SQL Server administration, CI/CD automation with Azure DevOps, and cloud database platforms in AWS.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining data integrity, optimizing performance across massive datasets, and supporting a modern infrastructure that spans both on-prem and cloud-native systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Architect and manage Microsoft SQL Server environments to ensure resilience, reliability, and top-tier performance.
• Create and support enterprise-grade ETL workflows using SSIS to facilitate seamless data movement and integration.
• Deliver scalable and secure cloud-based database solutions utilizing tools like Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
• Develop and maintain DevOps pipelines within Azure for database automation, version control, and continuous delivery.
• Enhance system responsiveness through query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance diagnostics.
• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of SQL Server deployments including configuration, upgrades, and compliance checks.
• Build interactive operational reports and dashboards via SSRS.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for database-related incidents.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders to align database initiatives with strategic objectives.
• Design and implement robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for both cloud and on-prem systems.

What You Bring

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline — or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of experience in hands-on SQL Server administration within enterprise-scale infrastructures.
• Expertise with Azure DevOps for release management and CI/CD automation in a database environment.
• Proficiency with AWS-managed database offerings, particularly RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
• Strong understanding of SQL optimization, indexing, query plans, and system tuning.
• Proven experience with SSIS and SSRS in complex enterprise data settings.
• Familiarity with SQL Server security practices, patching, and role-based access controls.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large database portfolios (1000+ databases) and work with vast data volumes (petabyte scale).
• Comfortable writing scripts and automation tools using PowerShell and/or T-SQL.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of obtaining a Public Trust clearance.
• Professional certifications in Microsoft or AWS cloud/database administration.
• Experience with data compliance, governance, and audit frameworks.
• Knowledge of NoSQL, modern data storage paradigms, or hybrid infrastructure models.
• Background working in federal or government IT environments.
