Job summary

Envestnet in Berwyn, PA is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own and optimize our production databases across MySQL and PostgreSQL in a hybrid on-prem/AWS environment.

You will lead incident resolution, perform deep performance tuning, support releases and upgrades, and mentor engineers while collaborating with infrastructure and development teams to ensure reliability and security of Wealth platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven MySQL administration experience (8.0 or newer) with primary focus.
• Proven PostgreSQL administration experience in a mixed MySQL/PostgreSQL estate.
• Strong understanding of high-availability and high-transaction database environments, including replication.
• Working knowledge of cloud-hosted database deployments on AWS EC2 and RDS.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation, and Linux administration.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Leads resolution of complex database incidents and tuning of high-transaction workloads.
• Plans and executes database support for releases, including schema changes and rollback considerations.
• Supports database upgrades and migrations with minimal production impact.
• Analyzes storage growth and capacity risks; recommends mitigation actions.
• Develops automation to streamline administrative tasks and reporting.
• Collaborates with infrastructure, development, and application support teams.
