Job summary

The University of Miami Health System IT Department is seeking a full-time Database Administrator to maintain and optimize enterprise databases, ensuring performance, security, and reliability for users across the organization.

You will oversee design, installation, backup, disaster recovery, and capacity planning, while collaborating with IT teams and vendors to implement robust data solutions for a demanding healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of database administration experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySql.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, manage, troubleshoot, and tune database systems.
• Develop task-level project plans with project managers/directors.
• Develop, test, and implement system changes and upgrades.
• Develop and implement backup, restore and disaster recovery processes.
• Document technical designs with charts, diagrams, schemas, and docs.
• This list may be expanded with additional duties as needed.
