Cynet Systems is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator for DB2 z/OS and related platforms to join our U.S.-based engineering team. The role emphasizes data architecture, performance tuning, and cross-platform design across DB2 z/OS, SQL Server, and Oracle environments.

You will work on planning, implementing, and supporting database infrastructures, ensuring standards, security, and reliability while collaborating with IT and operations staff nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 15 years combined experience in database administration for DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server 2008R2, 2012, and Oracle 10g+.
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration, performance management, and database administration.
• Advanced knowledge of upgrading DB2 for z/OS.
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS catalog maintenance.
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS sub-system point in time recovery.
• Advanced knowledge of JCL.
• In depth knowledge of the z/OS integrated platform.
• In depth knowledge of CA GEN model management and application object support.
• In depth knowledge of ISPF.
• In depth knowledge of the ASG Scheduler.

Responsibilities

• Ensure application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas meet standards for data requirements.
• Assist in the design, development, amendment, and optimization of the schema to meet system requirements.
• Develop database and warehousing design across multiple platforms and computing environments.
• Work as part of a team to develop an overall data architecture that supports organizational needs and meets security standards.
• Perform daily operational and database administration activities.
• Plan, design, implement, and support database structures.
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning.
• Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation.
• Perform SQL Code reviews.
• Assist with training and mentoring other technical staff.
• Perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested.
