Job summary

Foley is seeking a senior Database Reliability Engineer to own and optimize our SQL Server and Redshift environments in a primarily remote US role operating on EST hours. You will lead HA/DR strategies, backups, and security controls across platforms.

You will partner with Product, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to ensure scalable, cost-efficient data warehouse operations on AWS, driving automation and AI-assisted improvements that reduce manual toil and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years managing production database environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server with HA/DR and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with AWS data warehouse technologies, especially Redshift.
• Proven skills in database security and access controls in regulated environments.
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Engineering, and leadership teams.
• Demonstrated AI fluency and use of automation to improve reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
• Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift environments.
• Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies that meet business SLAs.
• Lead data warehouse operations in AWS.
• Own and optimize our AWS-based data warehouse architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with Data and Analytics teams to support reporting, analytics, and downstream AI use cases.
• Manage database security and access controls.
