Job summary

Foley is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud-based data platforms. You will lead the AWS data warehouse environment, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and business leaders to scale data systems securely as the business grows.

You will manage SQL Server and Redshift, design HA/DR strategies, ensure data security, and drive automation and AI-enabled improvements.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience managing production database environments.
Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing, and HA/DR.
Proven experience with AWS data warehouse technologies, including Amazon Redshift.
Experience designing and enforcing database security, access controls, and permissions.

Responsibilities

Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of SQL Server and Redshift environments.
Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies meeting SLAs.
Own AWS-based data warehouse architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Partner with Data/Analytics teams to support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
Communicate database risks and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership.
Automate operations, scripting, and proactive monitoring; leverage AI-enabled tools to improve reliability.
