What You'll Do

Join a dynamic team to assist customers in overcoming complex database management challenges. This role involves gathering internal and external database requirements, analyzing data and diagrams, and supporting the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of database change requests. Responsibilities include reviewing, recommending, and updating baseline schemas while providing infrastructure enhancement recommendations.

Leverage expertise in database development and sustainment, dashboards, and performance/data trend analysis. Utilize customer service skills to manage expectations, define requirements, coordinate team tasks, and organize large datasets for integration into an enterprise database solution. Provide technical solutions for complex problems and offer on-the-job training to application POCs and database users. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Standard support hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST. This work may require support during weekends, holidays, or off-hours, as needed.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in system and database administration and tuning using PostgreSQL, Oracle (19c and above), MongoDB, and/or Redis support in an enterprise environment
  • 2+ years of experience with either Oracle Golden Gate replication, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Mongo Ops
  • Extensive experience in MongoDB deployment and maintenance
  • Experience with AWS EC2 instances for DB hosting including start/stop and scaling
  • 3+ years of experience AWS GovCloud, specifically AWS RDS Oracle implementations and multi-region data architectures
  • Experience with Linux and Windows OS
  • Experience with Shell and Python Scripts
  • Experience recommending baseline thresholds, monitoring databases, and providing infrastructure improvement suggestions
  • Experience with gathering and organizing large amounts of data to use for instrumentation into an Enterprise database solution
  • Experience creating technical documentation, working in Agile teams, and participating in Agile ceremonies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5 years of professional experience, or 15 years of experience in lieu of a degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
  • Experience working with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with ServiceNow Visual Task Boards
  • Ability to collaborate with customers and manage schedules
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Active Public Trust Clearance
