As a key member of our team, the Senior Database Administrator will manage all operations consistent with database management. Ability perform and troubleshoot SQL Server Backups, Restore Strategies, Replication, SQL Server Performance Tuning and Query Optimization.This role will workwith multiple data owners and stakeholders to establish a monthly data extraction and reporting plan, advise, and execute data mapping, develop, and administer multiple databases and perform general operational support.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads the effort in database creation and management through data modeling.
- Expertise with creation of DataMarts.
- Expert in setting up Microsoft SQL Server database in virtual and clustered environments, along with experience in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Create and/or implement logical data models that represent the abstract structure of assigned information in the form of data cubes and or star schemas.
- Support a single common data model for all data of interest, integrating the data regardless of the data's source using common design and normalization, while organizing and disambiguating repetitive data.
- Develop tables: heap or index-organized tables, and table or indexed clusters.
- Improve data quality, by providing consistent codes and descriptions, flagging, or even fixing/cleansing bad data.
- Restructure the data so that it makes sense to business users, making decision-support queries easier to write, while helping support the accelerated development of business intelligence and reporting capabilities.
- Restructure the data so that it delivers excellent query performance, even for complex analytic queries, without impacting the operational systems.
- Understand and optimize materialized views and partitioning schemes.
Basic Qualifications
- BS or equivalent and 8 + years of applicable experience.
- Strong prior experience consulting Federal clients or serving Government agencies in their data integration and management initiatives.
- Proven analytical skills and experience engaging decision makers autonomously while serving as a member of a team.
- Proficient in Technologies: SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, XML, ODS, ETL, DWH, Shell / PowerShell / Bash scripting
- Ability to undergo fingerprinting and security clearances
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
