Job summary

NVIDIA seeks a Software Engineer, Data Systems to join our Santa Clara, CA team. You will build the store, data model, and query path for profiling data, ingesting, joining, storing, and delivering data at GPU data center scale with low latency.

You’ll design the data API, enforce access controls, and ensure stable performance during high demand. Strong C++, Python, and SQL skills are required, along with 12+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including data pipelines, storage systems, or analytical services.
• Experience handling large-scale data in production with billions of events per day or petabyte-class stores.
• Good judgment about event identity, ordering, and data transformations.
• Concrete performance investigation you can explain with baseline, measurements, and trade-offs.
• Experience establishing and versioning a data contract with a producing team.
• Ability to debug across component boundaries and validate changes via tests and measurements.
• Clear communication about choices, observed behavior, and uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Develop and construct the store, data model, and query path for engineering performance data.
• Join profiling data with context from the system to enable cross-job and cross-machine comparisons.
• Manage the data contract with data-generation teams and version changes without disrupting consumers.
• Trade off data quality, latency, storage cost, and retention, and verify improvements with measurements.
• Handle delayed, duplicated, incomplete, or inconsistent data and expose limitations clearly.
• Develop the data API and visualization views with access controls and stable behavior under high demand or failures.
