Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Specialist within Cat Digital to lead data quality, governance, and stewardship for Industry Managed Account data in Customer Master. You will partner with Data Product Owners to translate business needs into actionable data initiatives for our 2030 goals.

Based in Chicago or Peoria, IL, this role offers broad exposure across Cat Digital and the enterprise, with opportunities to shape enterprise Customer Sites data and collaborate with analytics teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data management practices and data governance (5–7+ years).
• A college/university degree or 9 to 12 years of experience.
• Experience with Snowflake and Excel is preferred.
• Knowledge of Managed Accounts and related business processes is a plus.
• Strong organization and analytical skills.
• Ability to work with data feeds and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead stewardship and management of Managed Account data in Customer Master.
• Educate Industry partners on foundational data activities for the 2030 vision.
• Oversee incoming data changes from Industry partners with technical teams.
• Collaborate with Industry partners to define Customer Sites data framework and requirements.
• Identify Data Product improvements to support Industry partners’ operations.
• Partner with analytics to identify and fix data issues.
• Communicate opportunities for data and process improvements to partners.
• Uphold data quality and governance standards.
