Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Data Specialist to oversee eDiscovery data processing, loading, and QA for complex datasets. The role involves guiding junior staff, managing productions end-to-end, and ensuring compliance with ESI specifications.

The ideal candidate brings deep Relativity/Relativity One experience and strong data manipulation skills. The position requires MRPT facility credentials and US citizenship, with a full-time schedule (40 hours/week) at a government-related site.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years in eDiscovery roles including processing, conversion, data culling and QA.
  • Experience with EFP and data loads in Relativity ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of EDRM workflow and litigation discovery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage eDiscovery data processing and loading from raw to load-ready datasets.
  • Process standard and proprietary data formats including mobile, social media, forensic images, audio/video.
  • Create RSMF files for mobile messages and load text into Relativity.
  • Develop and follow production protocols with case teams.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members and perform QA tasks.
  • Communicate issues and fixes to legal teams and track metrics and statuses.

Job description

The Senior Data Specialist position is a senior level position operating under the direction of more senior Contractor IT staff. Provides oversight functions for Data Specialists performing file manipulation, loading, conversion services, exports, and productions and quality checks of loads and exports. Develops, evaluates and modifies methodologies and procedures for manipulating files for use with COTS products and litigation support applications. Performs quality assurance of all EFP services. Responsible for ensuring that incoming productions are made pursuant to the applicable ESI specifications and when deficiencies are found, provides EFP Manager with detailed notice of deficiencies.

The Senior Data Specialist will

  • Manage and execute all aspects of eDiscovery data processing and data loading. This includes processing of raw data and loading of load-ready data sets.
  • Process both standard data types and special data formats that may be proprietary, mobile device, social media, forensic images, audio/video, etc.
  • Process mobile devices, creating RSMF files for loading text messages to Relativity.
  • Work with proprietary databases, reports and other non-standard file types.
  • Assist in the migration of data from Relativity Server to RelOne.
  • Manage and execute productions from start to finish including discussion of production protocols with case team at start of production process and related questions about the production.
  • Communicate directly with legal teams by advising them of errors and issues pertaining to the data sets and recommending fixes as appropriate.
  • Assist junior team members by providing guidance, instruction, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform assigned QC and QA tasks.
  • Participate in teleconferences with producing parties when technical issues need to be discussed and clarified.
  • Track and update stats and statuses for all work in the tracking program.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting.
  • This is a full-time position (40 hours a week).

Required:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Requires knowledge of litigation discovery process, and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow.
  • Knowledge of Government’s IT environment, including office automation networks, PC and server based applications preferred. Working knowledge of personal computers, including Windows, document review software, and encryption methods.
  • Experience with LAW, IPRO, Relativity, RelOne or other document processing platform. Familiarity with ICONECT, Relativity, MS Office Suite, and West LiveNote valued.
  • At least five years’ experience performing eDiscovery roles including but not limited to electronic files processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling using review tools, quality assurance, database loads and retrieval, and data analysis.
  • Undergraduate degree preferred-preferably in computer science or related field.

Preferred:

  • Expert-level knowledge and skill in using Relativity/Relativity One, LAW, and Concordance. Everlaw experience is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Should be highly technical and understand Oracle and SQL systems.
  • Should be able to create python scripts.
  • Be willing to work on a flexible or deadline driven schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.
Compensation Details:

$90,000
