Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a Data/Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure data pipelines supporting economic research, supervision, and payments systems. You will work within the CADRE team to modernize data infrastructure using Agile/DevOps practices.

Key requirements include strong SQL, Python/PySpark, and AWS expertise; experience with Tableau, Databricks, Collibra, Starburst, and GitLab is highly valued. Onsite roles across multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Recent accomplishments in developing and analyzing complex SQL on a variety of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) for data querying and manipulation.
• Advanced data analytics experience for designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports that align with business requirements.
• Experience using core AWS services to build and support data warehouse solutions leveraging AWS architecture best practices.
• Proven ability to use GitLab for creating a project, cloning a repository, creating a branch, staging, committing and pushing changes.
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud deployments and processes.
• Experience with Databricks, Collibra, and Starburst.
• Experience with Python and PySpark.
• Experience using Jupyter notebooks, including coding and unit testing.
• Experience with a modern data stack (S3, Spark, Airflow, Lakehouse architectures, Redshift, Snowflake).
• Senior to advanced understanding of subject; works independently.

Responsibilities

• Collects, cleanses, analyzes, and validates data for storage and use.
• Configures methods to test data against quality and governance requirements.
• Ensures data integrity with QA practices and data repairs.
• Performs data reviews and prepares findings reports.
• Develops and maintains data policies, processes, and standards.
• Identifies data collection process improvements and recommends fixes.
• Works on ETL projects with data warehouse teams.
• Collaborates with customers to build data-driven solutions.
• Reviews requirements and implements technical solutions.
• Participates in Agile rituals and CDP methodologies.
