Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in a technical field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, or electrical engineering
• Proficiency in R or Python (fluency in both preferred)
• Experience applying data science methods to proof‑of‑concept and operational projects in a professional environment
• Strong understanding of a variety of statistical and machine learning model families.

Responsibilities

• Translate scope of work into technical tasks for project teams using Jira
• Explore data and evaluate sufficiency for data science tasks
• Distill insights from data exploration and modeling to make work meaningful and actionable for clients
• Develop statistical and machine learning models and validate model performance
• Collaborate on development and maintenance of data science pipelines for repeated execution
• Manage code repositories and conduct code reviews
• Communicate with clients throughout the data science project lifecycle
• Identify data sources that can facilitate data science solutions to utility problems
