Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a senior Platform Data Scientist to lead high-impact Trust initiatives, applying rigorous statistics and ML to detect and defend against adversarial platform activity.

You will own visibility on experiments, causal inference, and modeling to inform product and policy decisions, partnering with product, engineering, and policy teams to keep guests and hosts safe while improving trust and growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a quantitative analysis role or 2+ years with PhD.
• Deep expertise in experimentation and causal inference.
• Strong knowledge of Bayesian modeling and measurement.

Responsibilities

• Own high-visibility Trust data science initiatives with technical depth and business impact.
• Design and analyze experiments and quasi-experiments with cross-functional partners.
• Build and iterate statistical models to quantify risk and treatment effects.
• Translate methodological findings into actionable product and policy insights.
• Deliver leadership-ready analyses with clear data visualizations and narratives.
• Scale data science capabilities within the domain for long-term impact.
