Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build and deploy ML systems that improve our manufacturing process. You will work with high-frequency time-series and tabular data, engineer features, train models, and own the full lifecycle from data preparation to deployment.

You will collaborate with process engineers in a sprint-driven environment; prior semiconductor experience is helpful but not required as you learn on the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in data science, statistics, CS, physics, or related field.
• 5+ years designing, training, deploying ML models.
• Regression, classification, ensemble methods, feature engineering, and evaluation metrics.
• Python and SQL proficiency for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience building ML pipelines with experiment tracking and retraining.

Responsibilities

• Build supervised ML models for anomaly detection on high-frequency tabular and time-series data.
• Enhance data processing workflows to create robust test datasets ensuring model accuracy and integrity.
• Design, train, and iterate predictive models integrating process and quality data sources.
• Engineer features from continuous time-series streams and handle missing data.
• Manage full modeling workflow including cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, and monitoring.
• Set benchmarks for model performance and monitor deployed models in production.
• Communicate findings to data scientists and process engineers.
